Racing Down To Michigan
For Fun
With North Central Area Credit Union!
Greetings from the Great Lake State! For over four years now, I have been stopping by local community events for North Central Area Credit Union. I love visiting with the kids and seeing old and new faces each time I am here.
My friends at North Central Area CU recently invited me to Michigan to help out with the local Cub Scouts' annual Pinewood Derby. I learned that all my fur can really get in the way of racing a derby car, but we had a lot of fun anyway!
Since North Central Area CU is building a new branch in Standish, they also invited me to take part in the Standish Loyalty Days Parade. I dressed up as Uncle Sam and handed out candy to the kids as well as pamphlets honoring family members who are currently serving in the military. It was a very rewarding experience!
Check out the photo of me in the Standish Loyalty Days Parade with Lisa Haas, Standish Head Teller, and Marjorie Lockwood, Standish Branch Manager. (Marjorie is the one driving the car.) Dick Shay, CEO of the credit union, navigated for us.

To make me feel more at home and to provide the kids with a fun place to play while their parents conduct financial transactions, North Central Area CU has been kind enough to build a Kids Center in the lobby featuring me, Dollar Dog! It makes going to the credit union more fun for all of us when we know we have a special place to play.
North Central Area CU currently has almost 1,000 members in the Dollar Dog Kids ClubSM - which means I usually see lots of friends at community events like local parades, at area schools, or whenever I stop by to hang out at the credit union! The kids are always excited to see me and tell me stories about their lives. They even call me Super Dog sometimes! It really makes me feel special.
When I'm in town I also visit reading days at local libraries and attend events for both the Girl and Boy Scouts of America (like the Pinewood Derby I mentioned earlier). In fact, for Reading Month in March, the Standish Branch Manager and I went to four different classrooms and read stories. The kids were glad to see us. I can't wait to go back and visit all my Michigan friends again! Thanks for all the great memories.
I'm looking forward to making some more new friends around the country soon and seeing my old Dollar Dog Kids Club buddies too!
